The guy in the store said probably because it has been polished..and over the years this happens. Sounds like the underside of your bezel isn't making strong contact with the 4 clicks. Try pushing the bezel down on to the watch hard with your thumbs. There's some a hyrtel ring around the crystal retainer which your bezel rotates on.This instructable will guide you through removing and replacing the bezel on your Rolex Submariner. The same general process can be used with a GMT Master II. I used my stainless steel anniversary sub, reference 16610.
To use the Submariner’s time-lapse bezel, rotate the zero-marker to the left, stopping at the minute hand. This should be done before descending into the water. Your diving time will be tracked on the bezel via the minute hand as time passes. From there, you can adjust the date mechanism displayed at 3 o’clock. Step 2: Rotate the crown until the proper date is displayed in the window. Time: Step 1: Once the date is set, pull.
