omega seamaster no wave|omega blue dive watch As part of the famous “Professional Trilogy”, which also included the Speedmaster and Railmaster watches, the original Seamaster 300 was launched in 1957 as OMEGA’s first-ever professional divers’ watch. The easy-to-read design offered superb water-resistance, as well as OMEGA’s first diving bezel.

A lock ( lock ) or omega seamaster no wave|omega blue dive watch There was no cyclops magnifier in the crystal at this time – that would be another Rolex first, introduced on the Datejust in 1955. You'll notice that the name Datejust doesn't actually appear on the dial anywhere; instead we have a "Rolex / Oyster Perpetual" signature at 12 o'clock and the "Chronometre" indication at 6 o'clock.

I finally got to try on a new 42 mm wave dial seamaster. I really liked it but . Back in 2019 I purchased my first Omega, a Seamaster Professional SMPc no wave reference 212.30.41.20.03.001. I purchased it over the newer version due to the size, caseback engraving, and classic look, despite the upgraded specs of .

I finally got to try on a new 42 mm wave dial seamaster. I really liked it but prefer the older model with smooth dial which I've found online ( ref # 212.30.41.20.03.001 ). Aside from the dial, is there any difference in how they feel on the wrist? Although it’s a functional dive watch, the no wave glossy dial gives the watch a dressier appearance so it pairs well with everything from jeans to a tux. As dsio noted, the coaxial caliber 2500d is a proven, reliable, very accurate workhorse of a movement. As do I. Compared to the current model, it's smaller, thinner, has an applied logo and a solid case back with a beautiful hippocampus engraving. The no wave high gloss blue or black dial is stunning and gives the watch a dressier appearance than most divers. It's a beautiful watch and a great value.

I’m of the opinion that this model is the 🐐 seamaster. The no wave makes it go with anything and the size of this one compared to its successor is just better. I think it’s 47mm lug to lug as compared to the 50mm on the current 42mm smp.

Both have the Bond-style wave pattern on the dial. Most of the dial is matte in its looks, except the tops of the "waves" show a glint of reflection when held at a certain angle to the light. While this is traditional for a dive watch, I actually prefer a more glossy dial. I personally have been critical of their wave pattern on their most recent seamaster. It isn't refined or subtle like in the original James bond model. The current wave pattern looks like a thumbprint smear on the crystal at certain angles.
