The Glashütte Original SeaQ is an interesting and unique entrant into the dive watch category. While it may not currently have the history or the following of the Rolex Submariner, it is a nice option at a time where Rolex dive watches are not readily available. Glashütte Original is hoping to make it faster to take the movement apart by introducing an innovative fastening system inspired by camera lens mounts. Instead of fixing it with screws, the new movement is dropped into the case and locked via a series of wings that fit into corresponding sockets. I’ve tried to purchase a Lange from several retainers in the last couple of years. They’re worse than Rolex! I even managed to buy a Patek 4947 in that time. Then I tried one on and quickly realized that it is an excellent piece in its own and not simply a wanna . I went to a couple of watch shops yesterday and looked at IWC's, Chopards, Panerais, GP's, Rolex's, Glashutte Original's, Kobolds and Omega's. For me the highlights were a Glashutte Original Sport Evolution and a new style Rolex GMT Master.
